preacherman
We are having some pretty rough weather coming through here tonight. We have already had round 1 and there is a lot of destruction about an hour west of here. We are preparing for round 2 that should be here in about an hour and then round three. Everyone of these "bands" of storms are producing tornado's. So, if you don't mind.........say a prayer for us. Keep Rhine16 in your prayers also. He is about an hour south of me and the way it looks it may go through his place as well.
rhine16
I almost posted on this earlier Scott. Unfortunately, i'm staying in my trailer tonight. Almost went home, but I'm gonna stick it out here. Looks like we missed your round 1. Went to the north of us. I've gotta worry with round two. Looks like it will be here in a couple of hours. William should've been in the thick of this stuff for at least 2-3 hours. Not sure exactly where he lives, but think the whole west side of TN has been through some severe weather. Stay safe Scott! rhine16
Heard a local station say there have been 7 reported deaths in Arkansas and 2 in TN. Then weather channel said potentially a dozen in four states. I knew the a few days ago when i saw these thunderstorms predicted that it was gonna be bad. We were at 80 degrees today. High tomorrow is 50. In other words, we are in a hot spot for these currents to meet and start swirling. Hope everyone stays safe.

wtnhunt
Very bad day in weather in this part of the country. Several tornado warnings throughout the night here, some got pretty close to us. Current reports are 13 dead in Tennessee, with over 100 injured in Jackson which is south of us. There is an undetermined number of deaths at a gas pumping station northeast of Nashville related to the storm. Total fatalities are at 27, but afraid that number is going to rise. Prayers going out for all those effected by these storms.

rhine16
Wow, what a horrible night. I was awake for the most part. I watched a storm system move toward me for little over an hour, only to develop a tornado literally right on top of my trailer park. Ended up touching down a little past me and staying on the ground for a good ways. Decided i had to go somewhere else then. Got to a friends at about 2:20 am, just as the 2nd warning of the night went out. Made sure that was all clear, and then got some sleep a little past 3. So i got less than 4 hours of sleep, and i've got 3 different tests today from 8 til 2. I just hope i can stay awake. : Gotta be one of the deadliest systems in a long while i would think. That is a ton of families effected. Will be praying for them.

wtnhunt
Knew when the schools sent kids home early yesterday it was going to be bad, fortunately for us we only caught the north edge of the worst system with the most intense rotation. Dave Brown, the weather forecaster we watch from Memphis said Monday this was going to be really bad and he said after it started hitting yesterday evening that it was one of the worst systems he had ever seen, and he has been forecasting weather for a long time. The schools my kids go to are only about 7 miles or so as a crow flies from Union University. From what I heard on the local radio stations this morning the stretch of I-40 about 7 miles long there were 15 semis overturned, and traffic is a mess. We were in Jackson just yesterday and drove right past the Union campus for an appointment for our 2 year old.
preacherman
We made it through o.k. but it was indeed a rough night. Didn't get in bed until almost 4 this morning. We made it through the first round o.k. but when the second and third line came through is when it got rough. Please pray for people in the Memphis area and also those in the extreme northern counties in Mississippi, they were all hit pretty hard in the first line that came through and then had to go through the second and third line as well. Rhine.......the guy that ate lunch with us yesterday said that he saw the tornado hit the CAT plant in Oxford, MS. When I finally got in touch with him he was there trying to help. Yellowhammer
Man that was some kind of storms that we had last night. I have heard that the death total is now up to 50. It got bad on the east side of the county that I live in but I don't think nobody got hurt from it. Strand weather we are having for Feb.
