This Is The Way To...........

Okay, I have to ask; What did it cost per pound? Hanging weight or finished product? I know someone who paid by the hanging weight (can not remember the exact price) and only received 60% of hanging weight which turned out to not be the deal they thought it was. Buffalo is good eating for sure.

They go by "hanging" weight and it was $2.55 per pound for the buffalo and $.50 per pound for cutting and wrapping! Total would be $3.05 per pound!

I agree with that you are not going to get the "hanging" weight when it is cut and wrapped! From prior experience on a buffalo, you get about 67% of the hanging weight! Better than you do with beef!

The hanging weight for the half we are getting was 309 pounds. Total for the animal and cutting & wrapping was $942.45. When you take that times what you loose, you would get 207 pounds and that translates to $4.55 per pound.

You cannot buy decent meat for $4.55 per pound!
