Blayze Posted March 13, 2008 Report Share Posted March 13, 2008 here is a slate cal i finshed up the other day.it is made out of curly maple.it is the best sounding one i made yet.when i took the picture it got a glare. here is a piece of mahogany(sp) that i am going to make a box call out and a picture of the wood for the paddle. HUNTINGMAN Posted March 13, 2008 Report Share Posted March 13, 2008 I can handle cutting the wood but how do you get the slate cut in a round and equal thickness circle.I made a glass call a few years ago and used plexiglass for the surface,it didnt sound to good but it was pretty. Blayze Posted March 13, 2008 Author Report Share Posted March 13, 2008 i just messed around on the wood lath for a couple weeks and got the hang of making them.i have messed up more than the ones that were good. i got a few that chipped all up and are no good. HUNTINGMAN i found a place in the internet that sold them precut they had all kinds of different sizes.if i can find the website i will post it.
