PotashRLS Posted March 17, 2008 Report Share Posted March 17, 2008 Mine and my Brother's 835s shoot Federal and Winchester #6s the best. We use 3 1/2" 2 1/4oz. loads. I have been told many times that #6s are too small for turkeys.......then I show them the pictures of all the turkeys we killed with them. Last year I killed my bird at 50yrds. I didn't plan to shoot that far but the bird put ground between us much faster than I anticipated. I have never been a big fan of the "High Velocity" loads.
