Michiganbowhunter_SQ2 Posted March 20, 2008 Report Share Posted March 20, 2008 Finally went out back and shot a few times out of the new gun....I didn't get a chance to pick up any targets, I just had a big piece of cardboard set up, shooting Remington Nitro turkey, 3" #4's: This is at 20 yards, some of what you see in the top right corner is from when I let my dad shoot it: And this is at 40 yards: What do you think? Can you really tell much about how it is shooting? or would it be better to get an actual target to shoot at?? The black dots I sprayed on there are about 2 to 2-1/2 inches in diameter. Seem to hit right where I was aiming on the 20 yard shot, the 40 yard one I felt like I pulled to the left a tad, but not much Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I think you can do much better with a different choke/load combo. On the other hand, if you're shooting 4's that's a great pattern. I'd rather see what kind of pattern I can get out of it before buying something different. No need in spending money if I already have something that'll work. I just picked up some winchester high velocity turkey loads, 3 inch #5's, had planned on trying them tomorrow, but we are supposed to get a bunch of snow tonight Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

EKYhunter Posted March 22, 2008 Report Share Posted March 22, 2008 Understood. Try some of the new hevi-13 with 2 1/4 ounce of 6 in the 3.5" shell. If you do change tubes, go with that same load with an Indian Creek .665. I had a gold and shot and Mad Max .670 with the older Remington Hevi shot #6. It was awesome.
