Re: Realtree Picture Hosting Problem

The only thing I can think of is, If you didn't put them in the proper picture-room, they may have gotten moved to the right room, which changes the URL to the picture, and it won't show up again in the post.

Example: . If it was a deer picture and you put in in your personal gallery instead of the deer gallery, it may have gotten moved.

It will still show up in your personal gallery, even if it is in a different room, but the URL to it will change.

It's to late to even compare the URLs now to see if that is what happened, since you can't edit your post now.

I hate it when that happens smirk.gif

Re: Realtree Picture Hosting Problem

thats one of them... The pic of my bow, and a couple pics of my cats where recent pics that wouldn't come up in the threads. I re-hosted them at andale, in case they got changed again.

if you right click on the box with the red x in one of my posts that are too old to edit...it shows the url of the pic,,, and it is different now from where it is posted...would all of my pics been changed all at once? I was saving them to my personal gallery. Thats not where I should be saving them?

They show up in the pet thread, and the thread for my bow because I hosted them at andale and edited my posts after they dissapeared.

Re: Realtree Picture Hosting Problem

OK, I think I see what you did wrong.

I noticed in the address of your pictures that are not showing up, you have realtree.com/photopost/uploads/6840/CIMG0204.. This means that you took the URL from the picture before you completed your second step in the uploading of your picture to your Gallery.

I uploaded a picture from my PC, just to see if I was right. I chose it from my PC and uploaded it, then clicked on the pic to full size it, and took the address when the picture showed up and got realtree.com/photopost/uploads/2141/83cambapril9-04-3.jpg

Then I completed the upload by naming the pic and putting it in my gallery. Then I went to my gallery, enlarged the pic and checked the address. It is now realtree.com/img/500/214183cambapril9-04-3-med.jpg ...... notice it doesn't say "photopost/uploads" in the address once it is placed in your Gallery

It looks like you were in a hurry to post and took the URL from the pic during your first step in uploading, and didn't realize the address changes once it is uploaded.

Re: Realtree Picture Hosting Problem

Thanks Buckee. I never realized there was a second step...lol. I was always uploading my images, and then just clicking on them to enlarge them, and using that address. I must have been doing that for a while, because some of the pics that dissapeared havd been up for a couple weeks. I must have done it right a few times, because my signature pic didn't dissapear.

I'm sorry my mistake caused you to waste your time. but thanks for taking the time to figure that out. I appreciate it.
