Picked up some decoys today. Was at wal-mart and seen these for $24 (for the set) figured why not, just somethign to get me started, being fairly new to turkey huntign I didn't want to spend to much $$ on some stuff...I think they look pretty good...also picked up some winchester HV shells 3 inch #5s to try, and a H.S. lil deuce call :D now if we could just get rid of this weather..supposed to get more snow tonight!!:mad:

The jake decoy:

(didn't put the whole stake on the jake for the pic) I also need to get em to open up a bit more, they are made of rubber, how should I get em to open up? I heard you could use a hair dryer, or just fill em with news paper?

oh and a realtree turkey hunting video (All-Stars of spring XII) came with the decoys...couple years old, but it'll work, I've never seen it :D:D

I always used the feather flex decoys.....so no experience with the rubber type.....but the hair dryer or stuffing them would/should work..

Looks like the same targets we picked up from basspro, suggestions that came with them were to use a hair dryer or set them out in the sun.

The hair dryer will work, but I like to use the sun. Since I know the weather that you got up there right now stinks, I'd leave them near an picture window in the house to ge them to soften up. When the weather was decent, Ileft them on the dash of my truck to get them to soften up....Tinted windows and a black interior really get that truck warm in a hurry during the winter in the sun!
