ParrotHead Posted January 19, 2005 Report Share Posted January 19, 2005 Someone mentioned that they had fun joking around with Slug and Carbon but that by myself somehow insinuating that they may be associating themselves with a bunch of idiots wearing braclets and claiming to hate America - well - that that was personal and hitting below the belt. And ya know - you're right. At the time of the post it was meant as a joke but it was percieved personally and for that reason I'm at fault and I want to apologize to both persons as well as everyone else that visits this forum. I believe that while it wasn't intental....I put myself on the same level as John Kerry when he made his remark about the Cheney daughter and I'm embarrassed for that. At no point in time going forward will I bring myself to stoop to a level that envolves insults or name calling. I do hope that both of you can except this apology and that we continue with much heated and informational debates as we have enjoyed in the past. Respectfully, John R. I just didn't see it as joking but again, it had nothing to do with me, I was just replying what I thought. It takes a big man to apoligize like this. But the last two posts that i have been envolved in have effected me more than just in here it has effeced my work out of here. thats stupid. I wont go to insults or petty things in here anymore as its not worth getting booted from a good info spot like RTF. Not going to point ay fingers, but honestly have seen it go both ways and have seen derogatory comments made by others involved in this in the past directed towards others in here as well. There are some comments that are made that can be taken wrong often directed at an entire group of people based on the assumed party affiliation, and that is not hardly right either. I did read the other posts about the bracelets and did not personally see PH post as an intended personal attack and I did see where I thought PH had humor in the post, but also could see where it may have been taken wrong and have offended. It is great that this forum allows us to have some good debates and great discussion, but is too bad that things have to be edited and locked due to the occasional tempers or occasional irrational thoughts. Things are going to be taken out of context, cannot avoid that in a politcal forum, but take the time to think about what you post before submitting your posts and make certain it reads what you mean.
