I drained it but when I turn it on its a high pitched metal sound. Ive found a few rebuild kits but nothing what im looking for. I have a 2 horse, aqua tools, mdl # AT2412710. I know we have some pool guys on here.... Help!
stevebeilgard
maybe just the impeller, but i'll bet you need a whole new system
Strut10
Sounds like bearings. Generally the impellers are plastic and won't make that kind of a sound.
wtnhunt
Got a hayward pump here. Have never had to replace a pump or parts on the pump yet Jeramie. Always pull my pump over the winter and put it and the hoses up in the garage. Going on I think 8 or 9 years on the same pump now, all I have had to do is reseal where the pump meets the basket on the inlet side. I know it is only a matter of time before ours going to have to be replaced though.
Strut10
Hayward makes a good pump. That's all I used to install.
