Hit a Bag at Lunch

I have been hitting the mid irons poorly, so I headed out today to try to figure out what was going on.

I've decided my upper body was getting ahead of the ball, I was either hitting a hook, or loosing it way right. I focused on keeping behind the ball and things started looking like I knew what I was doing again.

I can't figure this game out, in one day you can go from hitting the ball great to not knowing where it's going. And it usually take 2 weeks to fix what went wrong in 24 hrs.

Oh well, I'm hoping this will help the scoring come down.

Sounds like a good lunch :D

its a game of doing to exactly same thing over and over again....Repetition if you will......However its very hard to do :(:p:D

I was doing the same thing, it was just wrong. LOL

Tired of relying on chipping and putting to score. Need some more makable birdie putts.

I played 9 this afternoon.....shot 1 over (remember, it's a very easy course)

but found I was turning a little wrong and started stroking them after the 3rd hole....may have found the key for awhile ;)

Good Job, finding that key.

I think I was coming in at to steep a decent. Then with being ahead of the ball I was rolling the forearms over and slightly smothering it. If I couldn't catch up with the hands I was loosing it right.

I'm trying to keep my center behind the ball when my hips go through. This seems to be allowing me to make good contact without alot of side spin.

All that means is I'm trying to take the long lofted stick Thing and hit the little white ball in a forward direction. Yeah that is it.

You know i'm sort of having the same problem, mainly with my driver! I used to hit a Callaway X460 9 degree and was having a hard time not snap-hooking them. they'd start out ok then dive to the ground like someone hit them out of the air with a sledge hammer. If I went to the range I could smash them pretty good after getting used to it, but using it less than 14 shots or so off the tee on 18 holes it was challenging to hit it well. This year I went to a TaylorMade R7 SuperQuad 10.5 degree, figuring the 9 just wasn't enough loft for me and causing the snap hook. I do hit it better and they don't snap-hook anymore, but I still have that blasted hook almost every shot. I think my lower hand may be tilted back a little too far and I'm closing the club face. I'm actually just off to the range here shortly to see if I can correct it and try a few different things.
