pendog
Well no more chasing turkeys for this year. The season was pretty good, i called in 4 birds for myself and friends this year. 2 of those birds were not harvested though which puts a little bit of a downer on it. PA season was by far the most productive for me, i had killed my bird by the forth day and had called one in for my Bro n law as well (he missed). He did come around later in the year and killed his second bird before the last week. (he bought the optional second tag which i should have done:mad:) Ny season started great, first Sat i called in 1 jake for a newbie to hunting and he moved when it was 10 yards away,, i scolded him:D kidding! It did teach him a lesson though which turned out to pay dividends the next sat, he sat very still this time as a state park long beard gobbled our way to every call i made. I felt like Dick kerby after that hunt, what a bird, i have never had one be that fun and happy. After all that excitment it seemd like the birds shut up, weather was less than good as well. All in all a good year and a fun year, i love this sport. Next year i am off the South Dakota again to redeem myself from the last time there, as well as PA and NY seasons. My PA bird this year, inch spurs, 19 1/2 pounds and 8 1/2 beard (it might have froze off over the winter because it was nice then just stopped)
