coles
for my summer job i spray weeds for Teton County along the road right aways off of 4wheelers. i was just riding along monday when i came across this nasty fella. as soon as he realized i was there he coiled up and struck! not what i was expecting. this is the first one i have ever seen up close and i dont want to see another one. i chopped his head off with a shovel but the only one we had in the truck was just a lil 2 foot long one. thank god i was on a 4wheeler and not walkin. if i would have been walking i would be in the hospital right now. so my .22 pistol with shotshells will be with me for the rest of the summer. my size 12 shoe next to him. its about 4 feet long!!!. gross

toddyboman
Bird shot out of 22 will do great things for them :D That what we do when we come across them in SD while prairie dog hunting. However the people out there say the big ones are worth lots of money alive.....Just have to let the right person know so they can come catch them. However all the ones we came across got the .22 bird shot:D:D:D
slugshooter
I love snakes, they're so warm and cuddly!! (I am so joking) Funny story. When I was still up in NC, the only snakes you really come across are Black Racers, and the occasional Copperhead or Water Moccasin. I was still living in the one-bedroom apt before I got married and when I came home from work one night and checked the mail, this guy that worked maintenance around the complex stopped me. He knew I worked at the college next door, and that there was a lot of water around there, between the Cape Fear River, golf course, and wooded streams, which in turn, meant water moccasins. The man actually told me to catch them for him in a bucket and he would give me 5 bucks a piece for them. I looked at him like he was the craziest man I had ever met. Needless to say, I never had to worry about collecting 5 bucks from the man.
Dawg
That's a big snake. We "can't" kill them here in Texas according to the law . But there are a lot of folk around here who really don't care either!
