Not cool on the way to work

Was coming to work this morning and saw a deer run across the road in the fog, i was third in line behind a pickup and a dump truck. Yep you all are correct the dump truck did not look for that invisible second deer that always follows the first one with recless abandon, the little buck ran stright into the front fender of that dump truck. The impact sent the buck spinning atleast 10 times and almost into another car that was coming by on the other side. The ladies in the car watched in horror as it law there and died. Not much to do for it, i pulled up and it died pretty quick.

Too bad no hunter will be able to see this guy under his tree stand in the fall, he had about 4 inches of antler on his head, he might not have made the three on side side regulation (I work in PA) but still would have been a nice buck to get in a couple years.

Too many being hit right now and coming up during the rut and rifle times.

Glad no one was injured.

Reminds me of a big old buck I was hunting once. I called him ol' white-face, because his muzzle was pure white, right up to the eyes. When he was standing in the thick stuff, looking at you, he showed up like a sore thumb with that snowy white muzzle. Nice buck he was too, but the year I decided to hunt him. he got killed by a car. :(

A couple years ago a budy of mine put a marginal, at best, shot on a buck and wounded it. He came and got me and we started to track it (1st day rifle in PA) and he was worried that someone would find it before he did. Well after hours of searching we came upon it and it was not dead, it bolted and ran straight into the path of a truck full of hunters. Yep they hit it with the truck and when it was still not dead they shot it and loaded it into the back, they almost pooped down both legs when we came out of the bushes in the dark. We showed them the blood trail to the truck but they were ready to deffend their kill and we had to let it go.

Never any traffic on that road let alone at dark! Weird!
