New bow

Just wanted to pick the membership brain here a little,

Im looking for a new bow, money is not unlimited so that eliminates some of my choices. Im going from a Golden Eagle made in the early 90's so anything might be an improvement.

I dont want to spend over $600.00 on the bow itself, i understand the other stuff will cost me and im fine with that.

I was looking at the Bowtech Tomcat because of all the accessories that come with it and it cost a little over $500.00. It seems like the specs are very good on this bow comparied to all the others in that price range.

I understand it is not a Mathews or a high end Bowtech, I thought about buying a used Mathews but they are still very $$$$$.

Do you have any other suggestions in this price range?

Thanks for the suggestions in advance. PS i am a 31 draw length if that makes a diff on the suggestions.

Reason many people buy Mathews, Bowtech, Hoyt is not only because they are great bows but they have great resale value. Check package bows from Bass Pro and Cabela's. They have great packages in the $500 range with rest, quiver, and stabilizer on it. Also be sure and have your drawlength checked. Many people shoot too long of a drawlength..........To be a 31 you would be about 6'5".

Yep they have checked me and checked me twice i am not naughty, im nice. I am 6 foot 4 1/2 inches tall, hard to find clothing some times:mad:.

I will check out some of those.

My other concern is that i wanted to buy a fall away rest and that would be more money on top of the Bowtech rest that comes with the bow.

Check out archerytalk.com.... I picked up a year old hoyt vtec rigged out with new strings and cables for 425 shipped to my door 2 years ago.... speaking of which it has killed its fair share of deer.... and won several tournaments.... shoots just as good as the expensive ones out there.....

I would deffinatly give them a look... you can stumble across some good deals out there.... It just takes some looking.....

I'd definitely check on Ebay as well. My buddy swears by it. You can get great deals on there on used or even new bows with accessories already on them. Also, if you're looking for an affordable fallaway rest, get on there and look at the Trophy Taker Shakey Hunter. Many people use these rests, and they can be had on Ebay right now for less than $50 new. Hope it works out for you!

Good luck,

Ryan
