nativetexan
I prefer the medicinal qualities of Jack Daniels. My wife had the same thing happen to her and the doc gave her these lydocaine patches to place on the affected area. Helped a little, but she was still useless. You could always talk to a chiropracter..? Do you have access to a hot tub? That helps too. Loosens the muscles up nicely and may free the little bugger. Tominator
I used to have back troubles, but since I've got the air mattress, no troubles at all.
ThethirdI
Lay down on your back with your feet up on your sofa or a chair every day for about fifteen minutes. When you go to sleep at night put some pillows under your knees and sleep as long as you can before it gets uncomfortable and wakes you up. I have had back trouble and surgery for years and I know for a fact that these two things work. Good luck!
BR44
Agree with the Crown!! If it seems to be just a pinch, see chiropracter, but with the further, Gen.Practitioner, refering a MRI, could be a disc problem. That's what I ran into, ruptured disc, took surgery to correct. Good Luck, and get healed!

aksheephuntress
...I started to reply to this for you the other day...and got pulled away from the computer, for something... -Try this: -Sit on the edge of a regular chair(like an upright supper table chair)...with your legs apart, about 1 1/2 feet... -bend over a little...and brace your lower arm(elbow to palm of hand) between your knees.... -slowly squeeze your legs inward, so your knees are closing in tight on your horizontal lower arm ...hold, 12 seconds .... -try this 4-6 times, periodically throughout the day... -and have someone massage your lower back with a mixture of mashed up white oak bark, Bearberry, Wormwood, and Cayenne...(in Aloe Vera) -Your irritated nerves are signaling your muscles in the surrounding area to sieze up and contract- especially if you have been inactive-
pendog
What no Enema???? Kidding, really i have had the same thing. I used to lay on the ground and pull my knees up to my chest and hold them for as long as i could stand it, slow easy pressure no jerking. wtnhunt
Not going to help you out now, but once you get healed up, would not be a bad idea to stretch/strengthen the muscles along your spine. My retired neighbor a chiropractor told me to do lunges, he siad that was about the best exercise there was for correcting issues with slipping discs. I will tell you what has absolutely not worked for me, has been steroidal treatments prescribed by physicians, never again will they get me to take that crap for back problems. All they seem to do is temporarily mask the symptoms.
beagleboy
I am still recovering from a pinched nerve I had back in January. It started out just as you decribed and before I knew it I couldn't even get off the bed to go get a MRI done. I had a pinched nerve in my back. A herniated disc was putting pressure on a nerve and I was in extreme pain. From mid January to Feb 14th I was bed ridden. I never left the bed because I couldn't walk. Feb 14, I was scheduled to have a spinal fusion to remove the disc. My advice would be to go to several orthopedic surgeons and select the one that you are happy with and follow his advice. Good luck. To this day I am feeling a whole lot better, not much limited mobility and I am looking to go back to work next month.
hutchies
Been going thru that on and off for the last year..........Jim, Jack, and Crown will take away the pain til you go to bed but you wake up with it the next morning. Check out a chiropractor.
