The model 044 went to the new number of MS440. I was wondering about the age. He said he bought it new 1-2 years ago, but I hadn't seen those model numbers in a while. I've been running a Husky 350 for 5 or so years, but have decided I need a bigger saw to go with it. I have some relatives in the logging business up here and that's all they run is the Stihl's and they say they're an awesome saw! I'd jump on it! unioncountyslayer Posted August 1, 2008 Report Share Posted August 1, 2008 you can't go wrong with a stihl. i run a couple of them, but I do prefer the husqvarna saws over the stihls. if the saw is in really good shape, it sounds like a fair price, but i'd have a hard time paying 400 bucks for a 5-6 year old saw with no warranty. best of luck to you. Strut10 Posted August 3, 2008 Report Share Posted August 3, 2008 If that's what you really want......a half-ripe saw (saws aren't full grown until they turn ALL orange) ................ $400 isn't a bad price. A 20" and 18" bar both sound pretty short for that saw. An 044 is a good sized machine. Should have more like a 24" on it. Oh.......and something else......... Husky rules!!!
