Well, I didn't get to hunt last weekend like I had planned. Had some unforeseen circumstances come up (company Christmas/Awards party that I was planning to skip, but at the last minute was told I had to be there to get an award). No deer, but I did collect a nice plaque and a hundred bucks cash.

I'm definitely going this weekend and then going back again for 3 days right after Christmas.

Hey Team. I think this will be my last post for at least a few days, as I'm slated for shoulder surgery tomorrow morning. Good luck to those of you still hunting; I'm looking forward to seeing us surge into the lead. Merry Christmas one and all.

Texan, nice going on the award. A bit of extra cash at this time of year is always welcome.

Way way way to warm here this week, but things are looking up for next week. I may be able to catchone one his way to and from the beds checking out his normal travel corridors.

Snipe nice bird, could you maybe take a doe or something?:D

That was kinda what I was thinking!:D

I know guys... but I cant shoot something I dont see...The only deer I seen this weekend was Saturday evening hunt... It was a young 8 point.. but I could not see if he was a legal deer to take.. He came out right at 5:55pm and was to dark to see how wide his rack was..

It's not just Ken. I hunted hard Friday afternoon, Saturday morning and afternoon, and Sunday morning. I saw 6 does Friday afternoon, 2 bucks Saturday morning, nothing Saturday afternoon and nothing Sunday morning. Of course it was 19 degrees with a 20+ mph north wind Sunday, so I wasn't too surprised.

I'm confused this year. Normally we go through a post rut lull in early December, but by now the deer are usually feeding like crazy. It's very, very strange.

WOW !! ,,, something crazy is going on with the deer heards this season ... Had all kinds of encounters with deer in Oct. and it tapered off in Nov. which I contributed to our rifle season, but our Dec. ML season I saw ZERO deer .. go figure ...:confused: Quite the coincidence from west to east I would say ..

Good Luck folks ..

I just wanted to take a minute and let everyone on the team know how much I've enjoyed sharing the season with each of you. I usually don't get too involved with this contest, but this year, it seems like everything just kinda clicked. I look forward to reading the new posts in the team thread each day, and win or lose, I think we've got the best team.

If we had a contest for who has had the most fun...we'd have that title all wrapped up!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! :D:D:D
