but whats the main problems w/ the cuddeback?

Well from what I see they fixed the problems they had with their Expert camera. I have 3 of them.

The problems that they fixed that I'm aware of were:

1. rinky dink battery compartment.

2. batteries loosing contact

This was usually due to overtightening them to the tree. You had to get them just barely snug to a tree. You could damage the camera by overtightening them too.

3. Inconsistant battery drainage.

My first 2 would go dead in 8 days and 10 days respectivley. My 3rd camera ran for 6 to 7 weeks.

These problems were all fixed. I sent my 1st 2 cameras back and they sent me 2 brand new cameras with the upgrades and new software for free and those 2 cameras I sent back to them were 2 years old. My 3rd camera was less than a year old and worked fine. I ran one of the new cameras they sent me completly dead just to see how long it would last on a set of batteries. It ran for 69 days before the batteries died. That's great IMO. The chance of overtightening them was fixed too along with the battery compartment modifications they made. For a digital flash camera they are a very good camera now, have excellent trigger speed and as you can see take great quality pictures.

Now the No Flash is another issue. Their IR images are terrible and their IR flash range simply doesn't cover much area. A deer has to be centered in front and close to the camera to show up. Daylight pictures were fine though but after running some of my friends No Flash cameras the past 2 summers and downloading those pitiful IR pics you couldn't give me a No Flash. They were a waste of good batteries except for preseason and in season spring turkey hunting reconnaissance.

I can't comment on their new Capture camera since I don't have any first hand knowledge about them.
