Well The land that my buddy and I are looking at has a problem! Were approved for the land! Good News, But there is a problem!

The land has a creek running by it about 100 yards away! That Creek also runs right next to a toxic waste dump! Do what happens if the water is toxic? And the deer drink it and then we harvest it and eat it? What HAPPENS?

I need info fast! We wont buy it if the deer are affected by it! Thats the main purpose of us buying it!

Ryan I agree with vermonthunter and fisherguy. They can not legally dump into that creek. EPA would be all over their butts. Also ask the real estate agent if and when there has been test.

If the water is contaminated and effects your land you definetly have legal actions to take.

GET THAT WATER TESTED ASAP.

The odds of an animal like a deer collecting enough toxins in it's system to pass them on to a human (or another predator) that consumes the deer seems pretty low to me. I'll ask my girlfriend. She's a biologist and a chemist and runs a water analysis lab. Will have a good answer for you in the morning.

Real simple do a water sample test, to see if it's contaminated, if so bad news, if not great !! and do these test on a regular basis if you purchase this land and if it becomes contaminated at a later date you do have legal courses you can take against the waste plant.... smile.gifGOOD LUCK Ryan

doesn't get any easier than that!!!!!!!! good luck ryan!!!!! grin.gif

The water and soil testing is the best thing to do. You could also talk with your neighbors and see if they have noticed any problems with the stream, or local wildlife. And congratulations on being approved for the loan! If this land deal doesn't go through, there must be something even better out there!
