Dawg
My son was watching me shoot my bow the other day and asked me when I was going to buy him a bow. I told him that we would look into it and try to find him one. What kind of bow do ya'll think would be a good starter for him?
Guest Mark_85
At my wal-mart they have decent starter bows for $100. If your wanting to set him up with an actual hunting bow i'd go to your local bow shop and check them out.
laserbob
Check out Check out the Genesis bow by Mathews. The draw is for anybody, my grandkids have one they shoot in the NASP and the draw length will still fit me. Poundage is up to 20 lbs. I believe. Great bow to grow with kids. Guest tmrltree
Not sure how much your looking to spend, but for around $280 you can full outfit him with a Browning Microadrenaline. Quote from a review: "If your looking for a bow for a young hunter, this is it. You can shoot any thing from gophers to elk with this bow. One of the best things about it is you can grow into it until your an adult. The browning Micro-Adrenaline is the best bow money could buy for a young hunter. Like they say, "start em' young, start em' right!" The 10"inch adjustable hypermax cams are great to, you can grow into this bow.

LifeNRA
Do a search in here for youth bows, you will find that this topic has been discussed a few times. But I bought my daughter a Parker SideKick XP. I can change the limbs three times so she can grow with the bow. Not having to buy her three bows while she grows up will save some money. Randy
Check these out, I bought one for my 7 year old. It's a pretty nice bow that will grow with him. wtnhunt also bought one for his children. I believe he is also very happy with it. There is so much adjustment with this bow he won't need another one until he is 14ish! http://www.dartonarchery.com/rangerIII.htm
m gardner
Genesis. You can't go wrong with Mathews. Go to a range at a dealer and I'm sure they will let him try some bows. Mark

wtnhunt
Thanks guys, I'll have to check out all of the suggestions and see what fits my budget. If you are not in a hurry, I can bring my daughters bow to Scott's for the get together Corey and you can check it out. Nice thing about the darton bow is that it comes with all the modules to adjust the bow to fit pretty well any kid/small shooter.
