OJR
Yep, I have seen a few of them in my lifetime and it seems impossible that someone could do that to themselves.
NS whitetail
even from a small place, I know of at least a dozen people who have done it A guy who lives about a mile from me ( whom I know ) shot himself in the head last spring. He is still alive but is missing half of his face. It is sad because now he is a freakshow Another old school friend gased himself to death in his car last june

Gator
Depression is a hard thing to understand, and when it gets hold of you, sometimes it takes over your life. Unless that person seeks help, there isn't much that can be done. My condolences to the family of all involved

wtnhunt
Sorry to hear this Tink. Prayers on the way. Depression is a hard thing to understand, and when it gets hold of you, sometimes it takes over your life. Unless that person seeks help, there isn't much that can be done. My condolences to the family of all involved Would have to agree with this. It is a very unfortunate situation when a person thinks the only way out is to end their own life, but there is indeed a lot not known about depression. Also on this topic, some people of perfectly fine mental states are given poor medical treatment plans which result(side effects) in sending them into depression. It happens and is very sad. Jeramie
Sadly thats a pretty selfish way to check out too. A lot of people think they have it really bad but dont realize there are a lot of people out there that would swith places with them in a heartbeat. Also, what about family and friends? People just need to step back and take a deep look into life before taking the easy way out. Church would also be a great place to start. Even if a person doenst value life it would greatly help to realize that God highly Values you.
DocMort
Being a medic I have been around my fair share of suicides, there is no point to it, just off yourself at a young age. My grandpa and avid outdoorsman did when he was 80 simply because he couldn't pull horses, hunt, or work anymore. I can understand it then. But overall people who do it are mostly people with one time problems and think it can't get anyworse. I agree with someone above who said its a permanent solution to a temporary problem.
