randyoitker1
I just talked with Mike on the phone tonight. He was still in Brown county hunting. Not having any luck, just like me. He said he might be going to Cass county to hunt. There has been very little activity. There doesn't seem to be any acorns in the timber. The deer seem to be hanging near the edge of the timber near the food sources. I actually drew on about a 180 10 pointer the other day ,it was daylight shooting hours when the sun come up but my dads angle and lighting wasn't good enough for filming so i didn't shoot! It was hard to let him go because he was at 35 yards. But a deer like that needs to be on TV. I am supposed to be in Kansas right now but Kansas seems to run about the same as things at home. The big bucks are still staying nocturnal . I should be leaving for Kansas on Tuesday.
Canuck2
I've been wondering how Mike was doing in Illinois. Thanks for the update, albeit a bit disappointing.

randyoitker1
I forgot to tell you that Mike did shoot a doe. So he had some success! I am headed to the woods!
brownie65
I think it will be a good weekend. Starting to cool off. Yesterday on the way to work & on the way home, I saw several bucks trailing does. Think it is getting ready to kick off.
007hunter
The weather is definitely playing a part in the limited deer movement. To warm! Cold front is coming through though!
wtnhunt
Man that is tough Randy. Could not imagine being drawn on a deer that nice and not letting it fly for the camera not having enough light. Congratulations to Mike on his doe. Hope he has some better luck today. Have a safe trip to Kansas and good luck.
Tominator
Hopefully this colder weather will get them up and moving during hunting time.
