Gator
I admit that I really know much about him but what I wondered if people would attack him based on his race, question his relegion or say he is Un-American b/c his parents were not born in this country. This thread has gotten a little off track but oh well. I am going to assume that since you brought this up, that is the reason you feel as if many of us are against BO. While that may play a small factor, let me say that the mans and the Dems voting record, at least for me, has ALOT more to do with voting McCain than skin color. wtnhunt
The original point of this post was to ask whether some of you could support a canadite such as Bobby Jindal. If he is a true fiscal conservative then in my opinion he will likely have a good chance for the GOP in 2012. I admit that I really know much about him but what I wondered if people would attack him based on his race, question his relegion or say he is Un-American b/c his parents were not born in this country. This thread has gotten a little off track but oh well. This is a part of Realtree that is a political furum where I thought deer/turkey hunters could debate the political issues as they stood today without getting nasty and attacking peoples tenure, spelling or legitamacy as a hunter. This doesn't seem to be the case and I will limit my posts (perhaps none) in this area from here on out. Sorry that some of you got your tail feathers so ruffled but I will try to be sensatve in the future. As for me as a hunter I have killed well over 50 deer in my lifetime...first one at 11 and I am 30 now....I have several bucks over 140 inches and one over 160 but must admit that I am still chasing my first booner. The turkey I killed this spring (I don't like to brag but I got called out)...but he was an absolute monster... weighed 27.5 lbs, had 11.5 inch beard and 1 1/2 inchs spurs. I am not much of a turkey hunter and would have much rather killed a deer of that caliber. Hopefully that is good enough for a couple of you. Oh well...good luck to all of you chasing deer this week. Our shotgun season is next weekend and I know I need a little luck this year..all you you have probably put a vodoo hex on me for supporting Obama. Seems as though you are the one stirring things up Ace. Debate can and will go forward here in this room with or without you and I am sure there will be others like you as there has been in the past who will go against the majority and that will make for more interesting debate which is welcomed. If you choose to withdraw from discussions here that is your choice, I would encourage you however to learn more about your president elects voting record. You ignore the man's voting record and where he truly stands on the issues and you make generalizations. My reason for choosing McCain had absolutely nothing to do with the rumors that Obama was a muslim or with the color of the mans skin. I am quite certain there are plenty of other people here who voted the same. I voted the issues. Long time said I would likely have voted for Colin Powel if he ever ran, however after his endorsement of Obama given that he of all people should know where Obama stands on those issues showed a character flaw in my opinion and now I do not hold the same thoughts about Powel. Unfortunately it appears as though you are right though, there was a vast majority of one group who did vote for Obama based on his color, pretty sad really and really shows the problems in this country are far from gone when it comes to that topic. I strongly believe if McCain's color was black and Obama White and they ran on the same platforms, McCain would have won by a landslide. Some of your suggestions have not been so nice and are likely viewed as attacking, but you claim your president elect and you are who is being attacked. There is a disclaimer here, you might want to read it. You said that many of us here need to "have your heads examined" and have also suggested things such as race above in this very reply being the reason for which people did not vote for Obama, which I am assuming others will take as that you are calling them racists. So who is really attacking here? Might want to give it a little thought. On Bobby Jindal, I think time will tell. If he runs we will learn a lot more about him. I know nothing about his connection to terrorists, however if he becomes a serious canndidate I will learn as much about him as I possibly can. oneshot
Agreed... Too be honest, I doubt "Ace" is even a hunter to begin with, probably some PETA activist coming in here to push his political views, and I can't even see where he is worth debating with at this point. He condescending with his tone and probably nothing but a troll who I will soon add to my "ignore user" list. If everyone added him to the same list, it could really get lonely in here after that and he could debate all by himself. I am looking forward to seeing "banned" under his name once his name calling and sarcasm gets to the mods a bit more. Swamphunter I'm with you!!!! AceArcher's lack of knowledge (judging by his comments about Il. hunting regulations) leads me to believe he is either not a hunter or has no regaurd for hunting ethics. AceArcher
Oneshot. Where do you come off as I am not knowledable about IL hunting regulations? I am not a hunter in your opinion...oh well. I am willing to bet that the deer and turkey hanging on my wall look alot different then the deer and turkeys on yours. 3 solid P&Y bucks and a turkeyzilla this spring turkey season that is at the taxadermist. Have never killed a booner but that will come. And sorry...to answer your other comment...I don't live in Chicago...I was born and raised in Southern IL. For example you wrote and I responded in another thread (and this was a no brainer for someone who knows the laws in Il.). Gun season includes handguns, not just shotguns. Not knowing the hunting laws and following them is one way accidents like this happen. As for the rest, there's a big difference between a hunter and a shooter. It is my educated opinion you are the later.
wtnhunt
Afraid this thread has strayed far enough off course and is not going forward in a way that is really constructive. If anyone wants to bring Bobby Jindal back up for topic at a later date in time that is fine, but this thread is now going to be closed before it takes any ugly turns.
