backwoods07
Me and a friend have a holiday goal of getting a paint on liner for his truck. It's a 2006 F-150, and the bed is starting to show some signs of wear (you know, from all the deer we throw back there). I'm spearheading the project and have been reading up on some paint on liners. So far, I found a few that seem to be exactly what we need. Has anyone ever used a paint on liner? If so, what brand and what were your results? bluelund79
I used to work for Line-X(not a diy project) and there won't be another brand in any of my trucks, they are just flat out reliable and easy. My buddy I helped him do his truck, a 2005 Ford F150, and we did the Herculiner DIY kit. It came out pretty good, but we also took our time with the prep. I cannot stress how important the prep work is in order to make those kits last. Herculiner is a good starting point for a DIY kit, and it is relatively affordable. Good luck, Eric
stevebeilgard
i did the hurculiner on my 2003 truck, with o.k. results. it's not all that good. my new truck has a linex liner that cost me %500.00. i'll not use a herculiner ever again. Shaun_300
From what I've seen the DIY kits aren't the best. I'd spend the extra money and get a Line-X, those are GREAT!
hutchies
Line-X is great stuff.............Next truck I get will have it.
backwoods07
Well, I contacted the closest Line-X installer....A liiiittttlleee bit out of our price range at $465. But if everyone is sayin Line-X, I'll run the idea by him. Sam16 is his user name on here, send him a PM tellin him to not be cheap :)
okiedog
My last 3 trucks I have sprayed Line-X in them, as well as the beds and roofs of my two Kawasaki Mules. My Line-X guy likes me!
Shaun_300
Look at it this way, spend the $465 once and you'll never have a problem with it, it'll outlast the truck. Spend however much it is on a DIY kit and you'll probably end up having to redo it, so double the price. Plus the Line-X looks a LOT better than the DIY kits. Good points, but I can redo the liner 4 times for what I'd be payin for the Line-X
