You can always use a USN hub (they are cheap) if your are running out of USB ports for a wired printer.

Wired direct with USB 2.0 is quick for processing.

Wireless is a bit slower but less of a tangled mess on your desk:p

You can also share oone printer over a wireless network if you set one up on your home network

Wireless printer also costs more but the flexibility for multiple users in your home accessing it without wires all over can be worth it.

You can use any name brand printer out there.

Compare the costs of the various ink cartridges out there required by the printer you will get.

Stay away from any store warranty (the store may fold before your warranty is up; the rate within the warranty cost is usually off the wall i.e. see how much your homeowners rate is on the home vs the rate they get for the printer. Usually warranty's are a cash cow for those that sell them. Why insure a small cost item at a high premium? Convenience of a warranty does not justify the cost IMHO. If it bums out after the MFG warranty you may want to get another printer for another MFG IMHO.

Sometimes the Mfg. can keep a low price on the machine knowing they can lock you into their ink cartridges at a higher price.

See how may pages B&W/Color you can expect out of each cartridge and its ultimate cost.

Good luck

Never had any luck with the home versions of the wireless printers Tim.. ;) If you can live with the wired versions I'd stick with them.

Check out the ( C ) models of the HP line, they have card slots for you camera, and other multifuction devices that use cards, and the ink replacement is nominal compared to DELL and other printers, and the page printing is awsome blackand white or color .. ;)

This the one the wife and I have Tim and it works great ...
