Flintlock1776
Connected tax cheats that is: U.S. Senator Christopher Dodd and his wife will refinance mortgages with Countrywide Financial Corp. amid criticism they got preferential terms from the lender blamed for helping trigger the subprime crisis. Barack Obama said he “absolutely” stands behind Thomas A. Daschle, the president’s nominee for Health and Human Services Secretary who amended his U.S. tax returns Jan. 2 to pay $140,000 in back taxes and interest
Dakota
Yeah, I was unfortunate enough to have Daschle as my Senator for the longest time. Dakota

Texan_Til_I_Die
You missed his Treasury Secretary and all the back taxes he owed. That's very typical of today's liberals. They think themselves above the law because they only want to do what's best for the world.

Some of these "lawmakers"(crooks or creeps is more fitting imo) being appointed these key jobs are at the very least guilty of tax evasion, kind of serious offense for most people. Not that past government officials appointed by past administrations have not also been guilty of this type of thing, but do not recall quite so many ever in one administration and quite so early on. EKYhunter
That's what get's me the most. He says he's all about change and I think he even mentioned "Ethics reform." Boy he's really setting the example there isn't he? Two tax cheaters already and he's not even on his third week yet! How can you "Forget" to pay your taxes? I was flipping through the tv last night and Dick Morris was on Hannity. It seems Daschle also about $84,000.00 for something that he hasn't paid either. Flintlock1776
How can you "Forget" to pay your taxes? Maybe Obama former picks can write a book on it so we can get on that gravy train:eek:
stevebeilgard
looks like our "change" is having a bunch of crooks running the show.
goodnottygy
I hope that Obama can bring our country out of this mess or we are all in trouble.... but cannot we find someone in this country that pays their taxes? How do they get away with it? If I never filed, they would lock me up and throw away the key! Come on...appoint some one who is not a crook!.... or is that all the ones he knows?! That is why were are in this mess.... because crooks have run this country for too long!
PotashRLS
He should pay the same fines/jail the rest have to pay. Plus the gal he nominated for the new government accountability (gov't coverup dept) office. She is the same crap. Liberals are kinda quiet now. Where was all this before the elections. Its all crooked right down to the last ignorant college campaign volunteer
Dakota
Its all crooked right down to the last ignorant college campaign volunteer Tell me about it! I'm the president of the campus Republicans and I have to deal with all the load of crap I get from the gal who heads up the campus Democrats. They literally bully students into submission...AT A CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY NO LESS!! I've called her on the carpet on more than one occasion and have told her that her faith and political beliefs don't line up. What does she do? She tells me I'm racist, evil, bigoted, close minded, not contributing to society and that it's unfortunate that I'm 18 and have the freedom to vote for whomever I choose. Looks like the Democrats have revealed their true ideals; communism. Dakota

johnf
I heard today on another forum that there are several states that are putting legislation together to get rid of the electoral college. We could be heading for some dark times.
Orion_70
If Obama really wants to make a difference and rid the government of corruption, he should take a lesson from 3 of his cabinet picks already who haven't paid taxes. Just those three people owed over 150k in taxes. Obama should direct an executive order to the IRS to audit all Congressman, Senators, and Cabinet members. Start by making the leaders of this country obey the laws they've passed and pay their taxes!!! It would hurt to audit to top executives of the banking firms that have received TARP monies either!!!
