Steven
Today I walked in on a debate whether a grown man can wear a bow tie or not. At first I just listened, then my friend Bill (who was anti-bow tie) pulled me in by saying " Steven, you're a fancy gentleman. What do you think?" I stated that after age 6, a man shouldn't wear a bow tie unless he's wearing a tuxedo, or a member of the Nation of Islam. Well, Justin (the pro-bow tie guy) took exception to my stance and mentioned that he is, in fact, quite the dapper fellow in his own right and, needless to say, things went down hill from there. So, it looks like the fancy gentleman and the dapper fellow will be at odds for sometime. We even disagree about hats. I'm pro-hat (I'm a fedora guy) and he is vehemently anti-hat- though I think it's because he has a big melon head. Thanks for reading. Tominator
He's no dapper fellow if he can't agree on a fedora being a cool lid. That's just wrong. Hold true to your ideals my friend.

Texan_Til_I_Die
I take pride in the fact that I am neither a "dapper fellow" nor a "fancy gentleman"..... Last Halloween my girlfriend asked me what I was going to wear to the party. I told I was going to put on a suit and tie and disguise myself as a gentleman. BTW - I'm available again. pendog
Along the same Vane.... 1/ Is it acceptable for a grown man to ever wear a clip on? 2/ What if it actually fit and no one could tell? Discuss..........
Steven
Along the same Vane.... 1/ Is it acceptable for a grown man to ever wear a clip on? 2/ What if it actually fit and no one could tell? Discuss.......... Possibly. If you are a beginner to the Gentleman's game a clip-on may suffice. Personally, I have never seen a clip-on that fits properly, so I can't speak to that question. If you are interested in stepping up your game, I'd suggest starting with this book.

Steven
See, Chris, Kev, Toddy and Gary get me. What else could I ask for? Today, Justin and I had some serious issues to hammer out about the way a man should dress and we found some common ground. It turns out we share a love for top coats and agree that pocket squares should match the primary color in the tie( although it is acceptable match the shirt rather than the tie). We also are fans of cuff links and always carry a fresh white handkerchief in the inside jacket pocket. So, I guess we can continue to be friends.
