doubleA
yeah, I did ...... I was toe nailing some 2x12 ceiling joist and had a boo boo. I thought my hand was clear but it was apparently not, at the trigger pull on the nailgun, a 16D nail went through the joist and curved at the top plate and went in my left pinky finger just above the second knuckle and angling toward the hand.It didnt quite make it all the way through but believe it hit some bone. Let be tell you, I have never been shot with a bullet but if it's anything like this I dont want to. it really hurts, did bleed some externally and internally and now is swollen with different colors and is big as my other fingers:eek:. I am going to surrvive, not going to the dr. yet unless the boss(wife) says to:). Would take a pic but it's sorta ugly. Here is reloading room I am working on in my ranch shop. Dakota
OUCH! Glad I'm not you at the moment! :D:D I bet that hurt though! Dakota
Slash
Wow, that's kinda serious, you should probably see a doc anyways. If not, just make sure you clean it up really good which I'm sure you did. Sorry to hear about your bad luck partner.
wtnhunt
Hope the finger heals up quick Charlie. That is a really nice shop. With all your reloading equipment I kind of wonder if that room is gonna be big enough though.
OJR
I hope it heals OK! I would go to the doctor and have it checked out! Several years ago, I did about the same thing and let it go too long! Blood poisoning followed and that was NOT pleasant! It is a lot cheaper to go and see the doc now! terry264
Why do these ads run down through a post so I can't read it? My Trophy Den ad drops right down along the right side of double a's msg. and I don't know what it says! Does that a lot when a picture is involved. Also the site is slower lately to load or change pages, etc. I know this is the wrong place to post this but the example is on this post. Doe-ee
Just took another first aid course today and was informed that a tetanus shot lasts only until you hurt yourself just one time. Not the 5 or 10 yrs I thought it did. Bet a lot of us are overdue for that one. Nice looking shop though.
buckee
Geesh ..I can almost feel that Hope you heal up real quick. Get it looked at. It won't hurt.
Ashley
Ooh, ouch! You should go to the doctor's at least to have them look at it in case you did some damage to nerves or the bone itself. You don't want to get an infection, either. That would be no fun. Hope you heal up quickly!

layin on the smackdown
Man that sucks!!! I'd much rather get shot with a bullet....i've heard it burns a little, but since its so hot when it goes through (if it goes through) that it looks worse than it feels... By the sound of it, you have got to be in pain:eek: Get well soon!
Nut
As for the finger...been there, done that. Did it about 25 years ago and I hit bone luckily. Only hurt a day or two.

The text line was stretched with the pic size and that is why it ran into the banner on the side. Only way I know of for a user to fix it would be to resize the pics or to edit the text lines to end where the banner starts. Did seem like this site was a little slow to me yesterday too, that happens from time to time. Seems to be running fine now.
mike13candace
I almost cut my middle index finger off at the last September..dumb a__ move ... 15 Stitches later..& large dose of antibiotics later all good.. wasn't sure if the pain was from the large gash or the smathed bore... ouch!!! okiedog
I had two different contractors do something similar. One went to pick up a framer off the floor and didn't have a good grip and set it down on top of his boot to get a better hold........ YEP.. shot his foot to the wood floor:eek: The other was toe nailing over his head and was holding the hand was too close to the gun..... Bounced on the first shot and with his finger still on the trigger it landed on his holding hand nailing it to the top plate:o
Shaun_300
Ouch! Been there done that Charlie, it's no fun! When I was building my fish shack a few years ago I did basically the same thing, except it went through my middle finger AND my ring finger! Straight through the middle and half way into the ring finger. I never even felt it at first, then it bled like crazy and throbbed like you wouldn't believe. Thankfully it passed underneath the bones. The room looks good by the way!
