Texan_Til_I_Die
Looks like there's one less RINO in the GOP. A quote from the senator: "I am unwilling to have my twenty-nine year Senate record judged by the Pennsylvania Republican primary electorate." Nice.... Oh by the way. This gives the Democrats a filibuster proof majority. It's really their show now. I wonder what ol' Arlen will get out of it, besides reelected? gzilla45
I honestly don't think he stands a chance of being re-elected which is why he did this. He is too left for the right and too right for the left. After 29 years we are long overdue for someone new anyway. The only problem is that with 60 votes, we can welcome nationalized health care and a slough of other polciies getting rammed down our throats. jm23494
He just locked up his re-election by switching parties. There are very few republicans in the state of PA that want to see him serve another term. There were two candidates scheduled to run against him in the Republican primary. Now that he switched he has the backing of all of the lazy welfare hungry Democrats of Philly and Pittsburgh.
EKYhunter
Sorry guys, I just posted another thread about this, my bad. To me this is terrible given the fact that they are now one vote away from "Super Majority." I'm sure they'll have it when that idiot from Minnesota is seated. Oh well, like others have said, get ready to bend over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
stevebeilgard
yep. next we'll see al franken in, and ... well, there will simply be a rush of "and"s". i see history shaping up, and it's ugly.
Strut10
He just locked up his re-election by switching parties. ............... Now that he switched he has the backing of all of the lazy welfare hungry Democrats of Philly and Pittsburgh. Precisely. The majority of Pennsylvanians would vote for Satan himself were he to have a "D" beside his name on the ballot. I just wonder how the mainstream socialist(democrat) party is going to feel about Sphincter's "A+" rating by the NRA?? For as worthless a RINO that Arlen was.....he votes 100% pro-gun. oldksnarc
"I am unwilling to have my twenty-nine year Senate record judged by the Pennsylvania Republican primary electorate." He's unwilling to let the voters (electorate) to give him a thumbs up or down on his record? Isn't that what the voters are supposed to do? Is that because he's shown his true colors in the last couple of years? We'll see if he continues to vote 100% pro-gun now that he has come out of the closet - or if he just voted that way because of the campaign money he received. jm23494
Well the latest rumor is that former Governor and Homeland Security Director Tom Ridge is considering running against Arlen on the Republican ticket. If that occurs I don't see any way that Arlen will win with the approval rating and support that Ridge had when he was Governor.
