Car Insurance

I've had AIG for a few years now, and they jacked my insurance up $500 a year (2 vehicles). Wife did have a claim last year, but it's the only accident either of us have had in about 15 years and both driving records clean, so i thought this jump was a bit much. I got a quote from esurance and was about $500 a year cheaper, which put me at my old rate. Anyone ever used them? I'm a bit leary of changing to these big name carriers, but $500 is a big difference to me.

We had aig before and never had any problems with them. Think they covered the hail damage on my 3/4 ton truck and they paid out and never raised our rates.

Same boat here with allstate. I just called around, and progressive and a couple other can save us about $650 a year for better coverage(double the coverage) than what we currently have with allstate. Allstate jacked up our premiums from around $1000 a year to just under $1700 a year over the wife's last years incident in the durango with her being run off the road and hitting a mailbox to avoid a head on with a pickup that was in the middle of the road.

The thanks we get for saving allstate from a serious collision(head on) is them reporting to the insurance bureau that the wifes collision was an "at fault accident".

I kind of hate to leave allstate because I actually like my agent, but I sure am not staying with them on our auto after they treated us like they did.

Just a quick tip guys. I'm a insurance agent and you need to quote ALL your insurance every two-three years. In the next coming years I would quote it every year because your rates will be going up. No matter how much you like your agent, it's his job to shop and find you the best rate every year. If he isn't doing it leave him. Trust me no matter how much you like or trust him it isn't going to save you in the event of a claim. Besides most of your agents only took a 40 hr course when it came to learning insurance and then just had "on the job" training. Believe me I can promise you that literally 1 out of every 2 insurance agents have no clue when it comes to writing your policy correctly. All they have been taught was how to get a quote out and pick the lowest one. It's the honest truth guys. Be very proactive with your insurance b/c if your not it can cost you everything you have.
