Fellow NYers need some input

A fella I work with is looking for stateland to take his boy out for turkey , any ideas? He lives in western NY and would like it 3 hours or less Any decent areas?

Gee Tim, you are a little out of my range but I have an idea for you. I have one of these books for eastern NY,

They also make one for Western NY and they list every square inch of State Land available. I found State Land that I didn't even know that existed. They sell them at Walmart and Gander Mountain and they are worth EVERY PENNY.

When I was out in Buffalo, NY my brother and I would go to Darien Lake State park. That was for deer hunting, but I saw turkey there. Only place I went.

Don't bother with Stid Hill WMA

Tim, if you can locate where my Turkeys dissapeared to on the family farm here in VT, you are more than welcome to hunt them ..

After youth week-end here they just seem to have dropped off the face of the earth here .. and 800 acres is a bit too much for me alone to locate them ..
