Magellan GPS Systems?

How does everyone like their Magellan GPS's? I noticed Sear's has the kind that goes in your vehicle for $50 after a rebate, so we're thinking about grabbing it and giving it a test run as we've never used one for the car before.

It's a Magellan RoadMate 1200. It's refurbished, but nothing wrong with that.

Any Feed Back?

I have never used a Magellan, but have tinkered with the Garmins. I think they are very user friendly.

I have a Lowrance GPS that I contemplated returning to Bass Pro as it was the most non-user friendly thing I have ever operated. It was also pricey at almost $300 and I've added almost $500 in extra software files for it.

But you know what, I now absolutey love it after I've mastered the dadgum thing. It has the capability of adding marine charts to it, which is the main reason that I bought it in the first place and it is water-proof. The screen is smaller than the Garmins or the Magellans, but the marine charts is a definate plus as I work for the coast guard. Oh ya, BTW, I purchased it for work. I'd have never bought it with my money as all-in-all, it was just way too expensive for my pocket book.

If you have the option of expanding software charts either marine or topo, then that's a major plus in my book as it can be used on the road, in the bush or on the water.
