NS whitetail
I saw abit of this story on the news. What are your thoughts ? http://www.cbc.ca/world/story/2009/07/24/harvard-police-racial024.html
camoman1
Well hes definatly an idiot....:)but not just because of this situation. I dont know if his comments were necessarily racist toward the officer, but I think he was implying that the officer was a racist. Seems other folks are coming around and seeing the truth too, because his approval rating is below %50 now too.

m gardner
He's an elitist. He thinks people that have had the common sense educated out of them are not to be questioned. Mark
johnf
Uh, both. People who assume racism so quickly and are so freely open to pull the card are generally more racially motivated. People who draw an opinion so quickly without having all the facts or at least both sides of a story are at least guilty of poor judgment. People who constantly prove that they have poor judgment could easily be called an idiot.

wtnhunt
Obama's comment was out of line, the comment alone does not mean he is a racist, however some seem to forget that Obama followed Jeremiah Wright and attended the trinity united church where teaching of black liberation theology was the basis for teaching rather than the Bible and focus on Christianity. No question that Wright is a racist who spewed hate filled sermons to his congregation. Obama should make a formal apology. Here is a little more on this http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0709/25381.html.
oldksnarc
Gates wasn't arrested because of his race. He was arrested because he was acting like an a$$. Gates played the race card. obama, who self-admittedly didn't know the facts, played the race card with his comments assuming the officer was wrong and acted out of racism. Like John said - people who pull the card are more likely racist than those they accuse.

Texan_Til_I_Die
H is very politically astute. He almost always gives a carefully worded answer, but when he answered that question, it was about as bad an answer, from a political standpoint, as he could give. What does that tell us about his innermost feelings when his statements override his political instincts?

Think many people saw his true colors quite some time back Mike, maybe just maybe more folks will begin to have their eyes opened as to what kind of person he really is, but I am not holding my breath.
