bowhuntMN
I was watching Full Frame tonight while doing homework and happened to catch one of the guys talking about cleaning up the deer after the shot to show respect for the game and to give anti0hunters one less reason to hate us. Am i the only one who COMPLETELY agrees with him?

Am i the only one who COMPLETELY agrees with him? No not at all. I clean them up as much as possible. If you do a search you'll find out that this topic has come up a lot and has been debated about quite a bit.

Stinger-Hunter
I agree that you should clean them up, but only because it is a little tasteless to show a bloody corpse with a tongue hanging out - kids could see the pic and it just doesn't have to be that way. Having said that - whatever happens, happens - blood happens. They'll eat a steak medium rare and warm blood drips from the steak and they don't have a problem with it, right? I don't let Anti-hunters dictate anything - they will dislike hunters and hunting no matter what you do - when you start to try to appease them, it only emboldens them. jesse8953
I never worried about cleaning up a deer for pictures.Cought up in the moment at the time, but I do like the pictures that I have taken a little time to make the animal look nice. From now on I will be taking some extra time to get a quality picture and not get caught up in the moment. Doc
I agree with the clean-up idea. However I will say that most times I am a bit curious about just exactly where the bullet or arrow actually hit as opposed to where the hunter is trying to claim that it hit. I know that I have seen some terrible hits that later were claimed to have been right in the boiler-room. Of course they had done the proper clean-up and posing so that evidence of shot placement was concealed. Doc

Thats true. i've never eally cleaned up a deer for a picture because everyone that sees the picture is a hunter and doesn't get offended by it. but i do think its good to show respect to the animal whether its cleaning it up or making a clean shot. i hate when i hear guys talking about hunting and how theyre gonna go kill something or how they talk about animals they've taken and how they've shot it in the head, then they laugh about it. its rediculous that people just go out hunting because they like to kill things ya know? thats what really bugs me
