Swamphunter Posted February 14, 2005 Report Share Posted February 14, 2005 My son has been begging me for a PS2 or an X-box and I'm not sure what the difference is. Which is better and why? Also, is there any websites that list EVERY game for both so I can check them out? I must say the last video game I ever played was Nintendo, years ago, my first was Coleco. How many remember the game Blip?? It was like table tennis and all you did was move a straight line back and forth, up and down the screen! I guess this new era of video games even peaks my interest! Some pretty cool games, nothing like what was out when I grew up. Sony has a site that I think lists a ton of games available, not sure about the x-box. I went with the x box because....I hacked it and put in a new drive...now i just have to rent a game for a night,save it on the box and i have it forever. its alot cheaper in the long run. It seems that the PS2 has a little more game selection. Oh as far as modifing the X-box to either play burnt games or saving rented games is not a great idea. It has a much faster processor and far superior video capability. PS2 still does have the edge as far as how many titles are available, but Microsoft is closing the gap a bit. I don't mind the big bulky controllers for XBOX, but there are much smaller ones available. I didn't like the big one at all, but got used to it within a day or so. We have PS2.....Atari makes a very nice 2-player split screen game call Deer hunter for ps2....very good game.....we have all the hunting games with a few non-hunting games to boot....the Atari hunting game is worth ps2 alone....we like it alot !! The PS2 has a great reputation for the Grand Theft Auto Series which is some great games. The Xbox is known for its halo series. If I had to keep one I would prob stick with the PS2. As far as which one is graphically superiour....the Xbox but not by ALOT as some may have said. THe fact that Xbox contains 64MB RAM compared to PS2's 32MB helps it SOME but not a lot. I like PS2's controllers better and the fact that Xbox u dont use memory cards kinda sucks if you want to bring your data over to anothers house.
