Second Elk season was PERFECT. 55 degrees, clear blue skies, light winds, and 2-4 inches of fresh powder. It looked alot like this. :'> Third Season is going to be another story. We've conveniently be given 2 more feet of global warming. Temps are in the single digits although it should be warming up a bit later in the week. The Elk have exited the high country and are on private property in the valleys, that makes it tough. we'll find them though. It looks like this now. stevebeilgard Posted October 30, 2009 Report Share Posted October 30, 2009 looks great, jim. i'm surprised you only got 2 feet. some spots got over 4 feet. i've hunted colorado twice where we got over 4 feet of snow. hunting was tougher but kills were easier. did you ever get that big deer you were after??? good luck.
