DocMort
Well, here is a quick update on our hunt. Opening morning we were walking in to the woods, saw a cow, then all of the sudden two more cows, and 3x4 and and 5x5 step onto the road way, not shooting at them though to many cows in the way. Walked down the road another 1/4 mile and a cow and 20 other elk step well quickly run out and over the road one massive bull with the group no shooting again. 1/4 mile up the road from that or so, they stop on to the road, again, the bull a 6x6 doesnt give anything to shoot at, then he quickly walks across the road, dad and I shoot, he drops we think we have him, he gets up and runs away and I miss. We get to where he was and there is a good deal of blood, we track him for 5 miles he beds down a few times, after we give him a few hours we lose him, looked for him sunday but no shooting. Haven't seen an elk since then. Well sorry about the long post. But hope everyone is having a good season.
