tedicast
One year ago today, my Dad passed away. Looking back, the last year went by really fast, but living the past year day to day seemed like an eternity. Not only was he my father, but he was truly my best friend. The hardest part of the past year has been the hunting season. My dad hadn't been able to hunt in quite some time due to various health reasons, but he definitely hunted vicariously through Scotty and I. After a days hunting, weather it was a successfull, or un- successfull day of hunting, My first call was always to my dad to tell him about the day. If he didn't hear from me within an hour of dark...he was calling me!!.. lol He was always more excited then us when one of us got a deer, didn't matter if it was a small doe, or a big buck. 3 weeks ago when I shot the 7 ptr, which was my biggest to date, a lot of the joy of taking that deer was missing because he wasn't there to share it with me. I think it was at that point that I missed him the most in the last year. Not a waking hour goes by that I don't think of him, especially when in the treestand. Seems like thats when I do most of my "talking" with him. Love you and miss you Dad!

GWSmith
Very Nice Post...and if he was here right now he'd probably tell you like my Dad does to me: "I raised you right...you'll always be able to eat"!
