Jeramie
Dell makes a great machine. Thats all ive ran professionally for many years. At home I have the 17" Toshiba. Ive ran more taxing programs like AutoCad and have no trouble with it. I just picked up a new one around a year ago. The Toshiba I had before that lasted something like 8-9 years. coles
I have a toshiba. Had it for 5 years now and not a problem with it. My girlfriend has a dell and she hates it. She has barely had it a year. Does nothing fancy with it and it hardly ever works. I get texts from her everynight saying that she wants to throw it against the wall or shoot it lol. I know its opposite of what everyone else is saying buts thats just my experience with them.
BowTech292
I have a Toshiba Satellite, never had a problem with it, Vista is crap though.....looking at Windows 7 in the close future, letting it get a few months old, b4 I jump into it, to see if it has any issues
tthhwackem
Same as all the other Toshiba lovers, we love our satellite!!!plent of extra auditing and accounting programs running
johnf
Our Toshiba crashed about a year after we got it and was "unsalvageable". Won't be getting another one. We bought our daughter a Dell for Christmas on the advice of my computer tech at school.
Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
I have had two dells over the last 4-5 years. The first one was just a basic model, nothing special, and cost around $400-500, it worked great and lasted a long time. I upgraded to a Dell XPS m1530 a little over a year ago and have had absolutely no problem with it (or with Vista). I gave the old Dell to my dad but he didn't use it much so he gave it to my 10 year old cousin for his first computer. My sister and my mom also have dell laptops and they haven't had any problems with theirs. Moms is exactly like the old one I had, we bought them at the same time. My sisters is similar, but has a few more options and she got it a year later than we got ours.
devildog
They are all about the same. Look more into Tech Support. I think IBM or Lenovo has better support than most, then DELL is a close second.
stevebeilgard
kim komando said acer was the best dollar value out there. that was about 6 weeks ago.
