well, we put almost 4000 miles on the truck in the last 6 days. went to new york to pick up a camper bought on ebay. it turned out to be a great deal and was just what we wanted. it's a 38' triple slide 5th wheel thor signature series. this is a top line unit, but it's pretty big. i slid my chevy crew cab duramax under it, put the cruise on 65 mph, and down the highway we went. i never lost more than 2 mph speed going up any hills, and averaged 10.21 mpg going home pulling almost 15,000 lbs. i'm happy. we got 19 mpg going there. we had 6 days of cloudy weather, but only had slick roads for about 40 miles.

got to meet joe (aka ranger clay) and had a nice visit and meal. you've seen his post. he gave us 4 bottles of wine. tonight, we enjoyed his german white. when joe tells you it's "award winning", he's being modest. it's not only won awards it's a superior tasting wine and even better than the auslasse i normally get. mmmm. thanks, joe. if i had to make a suggestion, though, i'd recommend gallon jugs  lol. great stuff, joe.

my kids house is done, our house is vacant except for us and they are moved in. all is good and i can now go to bed and sleep for a while. life is good. merry christmas and happy new years to one and all. steve & rilda

thanks, all. today we took more "stuff" over to our daughters house. she's almost got it all together now, but the final touches will be a while. our kids from cheyenne will be here saturday for a few days, and it will be good to have all the family together for dinner on sunday. this should be a great week. merry christmas to all.

Boy, you don't let any grass grow under your tires, do you? :D When my wife and I came home form Utah in 2 days last May - at about 600 miles per day - I thought I was really hard done by. You've got stamina, man.

Glad you and Rilda had a good trip; your new rig sounds awesome. Very cool to hear that everything has fallen into place regarding the new house. Have a fine time with your family while they are there - I know you will.
