I want to get one to use for the occasional pheasant hunting. I have looked at the Stoeger Condor a little bit. Does anyone have anythoughts on this or any other? Strut10 Posted January 1, 2010 Report Share Posted January 1, 2010 The Mossberg Silver Reserve is in the $$ ballpark. I've handled/disassembled them. Have not shot one. It's an entry-level O/U for sure. But seems to be decently built. Should last a long time with normal hunting usage. Would not dream of using one for dedicated trap or sporting clays duty. Jeramie Posted January 4, 2010 Report Share Posted January 4, 2010 Ive owned the Stoeger. Wasnt happy with it. Clean pretty guns but not at all what I hoped it would be. My first choice would also be the Silver Reserve. They are in that price range and have gotten great press for a low end O/U. There was even an article in Field N Stream a few years ago about an Argentina Dove hunt with one. Apparently it worked very well.... I have had one in 12ga for the past 3 years now and I won't ever trade it in, I'll pass it down to my boys.
