The Kid Posted January 27, 2010 Report Share Posted January 27, 2010 I honestly could never go back and it wouldn't bother me,, I hate getting shots in the mouth,, this time it didn't hurt to bad but i'm sitting here getting ready for class and I go to take a drink out of my water bottle and my whole face is still numb, i'm drooling water is running down my face I feel like i a dang chipmunk lol, one word of advice dont try and eat a donut after your mouth gets numb trust me u dont wanna choke like i almost did:hammer1::hammer1: Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

My wife waited until 31 to have hers done. Its been a couple of weeks and she is still sore. It took her over a week to get her mouth open enough to eat anything other than liquids. We go regularly, brush and floss like you're supposed to and for the most part, don't have to have too much additional work. My wife, however, never goes. She had a tooth go bad a little over a week ago so that pretty much forced her to go. After nearly 10 years of not seeing a dentist, the x-ray didn't lie. wtnhunt Posted January 27, 2010 Report Share Posted January 27, 2010 Been pretty fortunate with my teeth, try to take good care of them and typically have good checkups on them. Just had my 13 and 8 year old daughters in to the dentist for routine cleanings yesterday and both got good checkups, however he once again suggested that our 8 year old is going to need braces. coles Posted January 27, 2010 Report Share Posted January 27, 2010 been there done it all except get my wisdom teeth out. I had 7 teeth pulled at one time when i was probably 10 or so. I hated pulling my teeth when they were loose when i was younger and would basically wait till they fell out on their own. Had one fall out while i was sleeping and one when i sneezed lol. not pulling them myself caused all the others to get crowded even though straight teeth doesnt run in my family. I got a Herbst appliance when i was 12 and its a device that pulls your bottom jaw forward since i had a bad over bite. Had that for a couple years. Looks like shock absorbers for your mouth. After that i had braces top and bottom for a couple years. I had a real metal mouth when i was a kid. But got everything straighted out. When i got my braces off the ortho said that the only thing they could do to get my teeth perfectly lined up would be to break my bottom jaw and wire it so i had a perfect bite. I pretty much told him where to stick that idea so he told me if i ever happened to get my jaw broke to come see him. lol. Dont plan on that happening. camoman1 Posted January 27, 2010 Report Share Posted January 27, 2010 I hate going to the dentist also. I had braces as a kid too. I had a back molar pulled last fall. I knew it needed work for a while but was waiting for my insurance to kick in at work. Well...one day (during my vacation for my nov. bowhunting of course) it was killing me. I went to the dentist the following monday and got it taken care of. That laughing gas NOS or whatever its called is awesome!! Expensive....but pretty cool.
