Newarcher
I see a lot of threads on this forum regarding taxes...it's that time. I wanted to mention that I am an Enrolled Agent which is similar to a CPA except that the Enrolled Agent exam only covers Taxation instead of public accounting, auditing, etc. Many people are surprised to find that an Enrolled Agent often times knows much more about Taxation than a CPA. The Enrolled Agent program requires stringent ethics and continuing education requirements and just like a CPA, the Enrolled Agent is also licensed to represent you before the IRS on audit or collection matters. All that said, I deal with many out of State clients (mostly because they all moved out of State to find work). So if any of you need tax work done, I am offering a Realtree member discount and exceptional service. New

I went against your advice on filing for an extension, but we needed the refund we were due and filing a the 1040x with the 5405 later on should not raise flags too much. Not technically, I will promise to Bill Jordan that any tax returns I do will be mailed back to the client in an authentic Realtree licensed camo folder! You will likely be okay either way. Just know that the IRS is receiving a ton of these and isn't adept at processing anything timely. These applications will also receive a LOT of scrutiny because as you can imagine, there will be a lot of people trying to fraudulently get the credit. So expect a slow check.
