redkneck
I hate to, but just too many things to go wrong when you have a family to support. I think about that deer I hit a month ago and how it was totally unavoidable. Think I'll pick up a POJ carolla or something to drive instead of my Z71 that I'm wearing out on my 100 mile daily commute and save some gas $ too. Jeramie
As far as the commute, its a good idea to get a car. I was driving my 2001 F150 (5.4 V8) on my 110 round trip. Talking about EXPENSIVE. I was forking out over $20 a day to drive the truck. I ended up buying a pile of junk Chevy Malibu (classic). I cant stand the car but it cost about $8 - $9 a day. Thats over $3K a year in gas savings alone. Granted I have to buy insurance for the car but it pays its own payment and still makes me money. I didnt like racking miles up on the truck either. Its paid off so having it last as long as possible is a good thing. next on my list? Toyota Camry
Larry
I drive right at 100 miles a day, and I bought an older, (98 model) cadillac and get about 22 mpg's. not exceptional but I am 6'4" and the extra leg room is really nice. I was driving my Silverado before I got this car and was only getting around 12 to 14 mpg's. So the Caddy is an improvement.
Shaun_300
Yeah the Corolla would definitely be a lot easier on gas than the Z71! Sorry to hear you're selling your bike though, that sucks. Gotta do what ya good do though eh.
Adjam5
That bites that you have to get rid of the bike John . I can hear ya about the truck passing everything but gas stations. I have a 06 Corolla that I commute with and with 89 grade gas, I get about 35mpg. My Silverado comes out on weekends. I feel like a big shot when I get to drive my truck:D. As much as I love horse riding, I'll keep to the 4-wheeler. They're a WHOLE lot cheaper!
