ChrisSeb53
that kind of passionate emotion is what this great tradition of hunting is all about... you are definitely not the only one who has cried after taking an animal... I get so emotional when I think about how blessed I am to be able to get out into God's country and witness life's amazing beauty... It's what keeps me coming back for more... deer or no deer

Nut
I have never cried. But I have gotten the shakes really bad once when a son killed a big one. Most of the time I am just plain pumped.
Lance86
I'm guessing that the day I'm not emotional will be the day that I hang it up and I'm sure that there are many others out there who will agree. Harvesting an animal opens the flood gates of memories every year, but after hunting for 35 years, the biggest thrill was sitting next to my daughter last year when she took her first deer. MichiganHunter
never after i connected with a deer but I missed the biggest but I have ever seen in the wild...prob a 170 or 180 10pt or 12pt at 40yds...In fact my when my friend came over to help me look for blood I told him I wanted to quit for the day....and it was a good thing I didn't because not even 2 hours later I killed the biggest buck I've killed so far...140 8pt. Dakota
I remember shooting my first buck (a button buck) and standing over him before putting him out of his misery. I just wanted to reach down and pet him as he was breathing hard and say, "it's okay, everything's going to be ok". I'll never forget that deer. I know this isn't deer hunting, but I also remember shaking uncontrollably when I pulled my first mink from the icy water this past fall. That was just an unbelievable feeling!
