Tracking Blood

This has probably been posted before, but was using my cute little light this morning with the red, white, and green modes, and was wondering who in here uses them for tracking? I guess between me and my buddies at the camp, we've used every flashlight from el cheapo to the 100 dollar varieties with all the bells and whistles, but nothing beats a white light IMO.

Any thoughts?

Used that one & a lot of others before John. Nothing beats a nice bright white flashlight...preferably one that cast it's beam over a wide area while tracking.

This has been my main tracking light for the past couple of years. It throws out a brighter beam than my Surefire flashlight, covers a larger area, and it last longer on a set of batteries (same kind & same number). Light weight & compact too.

A couple years ago I got the Primos Blood Hunter flashlight as a gift. I was a skeptic at first, thinking the green and red combined light would make that much of a difference. I was definitely wrong though. That kind of light makes the blood practically glow. I'm still using the same batteries and don't plan on switching really.

Pretty partial to the plain ol' 3 D-cell B-Light, or the newer LED's that are out there. The LED is really white, bordering on blue, they are nice, but don't send out too wide of a pattern (at least my little one doesn't).

Most of the deer I shoot die within 80 yards of the stand, so I don't have to track too many of them. :D

My Grandaddy has one of those lights. It works pretty well if you don't cross its path with a regular light. We normally use Mag-Lites & I have a LED light similar to a Mag that my daddy got at work. Also have a couple Pelican lights.

Why does this remind me of Ghostbusters? :D

Where I hunt 80 yards can feel like 8 miles sometimes, but I'm with you on the "no tracking" preference. I only posted the thread b/c of the last light I bought to keep in the truck happened to have the red and green lights too. Seems like you can't find many like that these days that don't. I do like the red light though for walking to the stand before daylight.

I bought the Gerber light a couple of years ago and haven't noticed that the colored lights helped at all with blood. What I do like about that light though is that the regular white beam is brighter than on most of my other lights. I use the white light on it to track more than anything else. I may have to check into the Mainbeam light though, it looks great.
