Shaun_300 Posted July 20, 2010 Report Share Posted July 20, 2010 Finally got my truck fired up with the LS6 in it, still some wiring issues to get figured out, but the main thing is she runs, purrs like a kitten, no knocks or ticks or anything. Got a tiny exhaust leak right where the Y pipe bolts up to the header, I snuggled the bolt up a little too tight and cracked the flange a bit, nothing a welder can't fix. And wow does it ever sound mean!:jaw: I'll have to go take a video of it here soon, I'll post it up when I do. Everybody knows that a BB Chevy is supposed to "barr-ump-barrump-a dump" in a rough, 1300 RPM idle. Oops!! Forgot!! Old school solid lifter cams and 13.5:1 compression have been replaced. It's got a Lunati roller cam with 112LSA and .575" lift, it doesn't by any means sound stock. :D Went out to do a video and got chatting with a neighbour for over an hour, I could have done the video now but didn't want to tick off anyone in the neighbourhood. It's got a Lunati roller cam with 112LSA and .575" lift, it doesn't by any means sound stock. :D That oughta give it a nice snicker through a pair of 3" Flowmasters. I ran a Crower solid in my 396. It was 296 degrees AD on the intake/298 degrees AD on the exhaust with .598" lift both sides. It was BTTW for power from idle to 8200+ RPM. But it lent very little to driveability. Made so little vacuum that you had to idle it at 1300 to keep it running when you pulled it into gear (auto trans). Very fun to ride in...............very hard to drive. Not really that quickly though, I'm sure it'll hold up for a little while, I don't plan on pounding the livin snot out of it every time I drive it.
