There is a really good acorn here this year, so there should be plenty of good hunting. I will probably try to go a few times in early season, but I normally wait until after bow season to hunt hard. Rem308 Posted October 13, 2010 Report Share Posted October 13, 2010 Well, tonight was great...I stopped in and hunted with a friend of mine. Squirrels were moving and the first one barked at us so I answered w/ my little squirrel call. It wasn't long and I spotted his head in the 'V' of a tree. I had a good rest and squeezed the trigger on the Ruger 10-22 and made a good headshot. A short while later I took the largest fox squirrel I've ever taken, and then got a 3rd grey before dark. Little suckers set me back about $60 already.
