Hillbilly
I hate to say it, but the steriod issue really took a lot of great things out of baseball for me. I never have liked Bonds, a little too cocky for me, but I respected his game at the time of all his homeruns, now that he is under watch with the juice he took, my respect for his game has been disappearing. I am hurt by all this negative turn around baseball has took. It hurts me bad, I still love baseball and always will, but wont love it too all it's worth. I just wished steriods never was created. Baseball is suppose to be America's Past time. But I think America and the fans of sports are looking elsewhere for a new sport to call it's Favorite Past Time. But I'll get it over it an dI'm sure every other fan out there will to. Can't wait too see the sleepers this year. Who's gonna suprise the league this year? Whose gonna turn heads? And whose gonna disappoint Go Cardinals!!!!!
Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
Re: Still looking forward to watching baseball. the steriod thing reallt didn't effect how i look at the game.....i love the game and can't wait to get the season going....i am a Detroit Tigers fan, i think they will have a decent year this year....they have a solid team they just need pitching to step up this year...they have come along way since the horid record they had in 2003. Hillbilly
Re: Still looking forward to watching baseball. lol yeah that 2003 was pretty sad. Maroth had a pretty bad year. They sure do have a better team and will probably will have a great year. Their pitching did step up. Can't wait to see this new year unfold. WaCoyote
Re: Still looking forward to watching baseball. Baseball Rules!!! I love going turkey hunting and listening to the game on the way home or when I'm under a tree. Got one of those itty bitty little radios, it works great. I put one ear phone in and I'm ready. Also LOVE the world series on the radio at deer camp. This thread is making me all misty eyed. I LOVE BASEBALL!!!!
MCH
Re: Still looking forward to watching baseball. [ QUOTE ] Baseball Rules!!! I LOVE BASEBALL!!!! [/ QUOTE ] Amen, brother. There's nothing like a 3-0 count in the bottom of the ninth, down by one run, with your big man at the plate. Or a 0-2 count with your ace on the mound. You gotta love how a catcher will make a visit to the mound after an ump gets hit with a foul ball, and how an ump will take his time inspecting the ball after the catcher gets hit in the groin or mask. It's the little things about baseball that I love. It's the switch hitters, the side-armed lefties, the starter who can't throw over 80 but has a mean knuckler, the situational reliever who appears in 100 games but only faces 101 hitters, the pitch out when it works, the sinker when it doesn't.....losing the division by 10 games but winning the wild card by 1. I could go on and on....but I won't....
VABuckSlayer
Re: Still looking forward to watching baseball. I love baseball too and the steriod thing doesn't bother me too bad. I'll still watch it. I can't wait to see Jeter and Womack turn a double play and hopefully see the Big Unit pitch a no-no against the Red Sox opening day! I really love it when it gets close to the end of the season and teams are playing for a playoff spot. Then the playoffs and the Series rule!
