MichiganHuntr1
Re: Michigan Cougar caught If its true, It is great. Maybe someone will believe that we have an active cougar population here. Lenawee County, thats near me. I live in Ottawa Lake, in Monroe County, where the cougar was first reported seen.

We have an active population here in Missouri and the have been several shot or hit by cars and even video taped but the conservation department still denies it. They say all the cats that that were reported to them are just ones that wandered here from out West. Thats a bunch of bull. Last spring someone even found mountain lion kittens. They won't even comment on those.
wtnhunt
Re: Michigan Cougar caught The wildlife agencies are in denial about these animals ability to adapt and the wide range they can cover. My neighbor, an old farmer, just up the road still claims a boy hunting his land a few years back saw one in the bottom here. I have seen a long tailed cat with spots. looked similar to a big bobcat with a longtail. Kind of makes me wonder if what I saw was not maybe a cougar cub or kitten. Have heard lots of stories about there being a few around here in the bottoms.
